Inspiration

Inspiration can hit at any moment and at any time. Mine came ten years ago as I was strolling through a museum. I saw the most beautiful necklace. It was exquisite and I had to have it! It was also very expensive. I knew right away that I could probably make one similar for much less money. Did I ever learn a lesson or two! It didn't matter, I was hooked and my creative energy finally had an outlet. My name is Melissa, but I go by "Mel". I wore my necklace to work a few times and before you know it, everyone wanted a "Mel" necklace. So I began designing unique one of a kind pieces of jewelry and pretty soon my friends and co-workers were all wearing them. It was very common for someone to comment on someone’s jewelry and then ask "is that a Mel?" And that's how "A-Mel" began...
